A 27-year-old man has been charged with obstructing business for allegedly threatening to kill Nintendo employees who created a "sh*tty game."

As reported by VGC, the suspect sent 39 threats through the inquiry form on Nintendo's website between August 22 and November 29 last year. "I’ll make you regret bringing such a sh*tty game into this world," he said, but it's not clear which title he meant.

The man promised to "kill everyone involved" and warned the workers to be "careful about events that have spectators in attendance." As a result, Nintendo canceled Splatoon Koshien 2023 National Finals and Nintendo Live 2024, saying it couldn’t ensure the safety of the attendees.

"Our company has been persistently receiving threatening behavior targeting our staff," Nintendo said in December.

"Recently, these threats have extended to the audience and staff of the Splatoon Koshien 2023 National Finals event as well. With consideration to the safety of our customers as our top priority, we have decided to postpone the event."

Nintendo released several games last year before August, including Pikmin 4, Everybody 1-2-Switch!, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon, Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, Metroid Prime Remastered, and Fire Emblem Engage. Which do you think made him mad?
