The award-winning Wētā FX team is looking for FX TDs to join their talented crew onsite for some exciting projects opening up in 2024-2025.
Wētā FX, an award-winning digital visual effects and animation company known worldwide for producing VFX for some of the highest-grossing films such as Lord of the Rings trilogy and Avatar, is currently looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic Effects Technical Directors to join their teams based in Australia, New Zealand, and Canada for a number of unannounced "exciting" projects opening up in 2024-2025.
"Our FX team is comprised of more than 100 of the world's leading FX TDs. Collectively they help to solve a diverse variety of VFX problems, working in close partnership with other departments across Wētā FX. FX is integral to Wētā's R&D efforts, pipeline, and workflows, which all continue to adapt to the increasing focus on FX-driven VFX.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and building a team who sit at the juncture between creativity and technology in a company that continues to push the boundaries of the VFX craft."

The company emphasizes that this is an onsite role and to be eligible you must be either based in or able to relocate to one of their offices in Melbourne, Australia, Wellington, New Zealand, or Vancouver, Canada.
Requirements:
- Have over 3 years of experience as an FX artist on feature films
- Be an excellent communicator
- Be comfortable collaborating and a strong team player
- Have generalist knowledge of Houdini (Flip, Pyro, RBD, etc.)
- Be proficient in Linux
